Privacy policy

This website is operated by Get Paros SRL, RNC 1-33-45009-7, of Calle C, Santiago de los Caballeros 51000, República Dominicana ("we," "us"). The store operates under the trade name paros. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, what we do with it, and the rights you hold over it. It is written to comply with Dominican Law No. 172-13 on the Protection of Personal Data and, for customers in the European Union and European Economic Area, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1.1 What we collect

  • Order information: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and the items you purchase.
  • Payment information: processed by our payment provider, Azul. We never see, store, or have access to your full card number. See the Security Policy within our Legal Notice.
  • Account information: if you create an account — email, name, order history, saved addresses.
  • Communications: emails and messages you send us, so we can answer and keep a record of the resolution.
  • Marketing preferences: your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter, and your consent record.
  • Device and usage information: collected automatically by our e-commerce platform (Shopify) through cookies — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring pages. Used for the site to function, for fraud prevention, and for aggregate analytics.

We do not collect more than we need, and we never buy personal data from third parties.

1.2 Why we collect it (legal bases)

  • To fulfil your order — contract performance: processing payment, shipping, sending order and delivery notifications, and answering order questions.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting, and consumer-protection law in the Dominican Republic and in the countries we ship to.
  • To prevent fraud and secure the site — legitimate interest.
  • To send marketing email — your consent only. Every marketing email contains a working unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

1.3 Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who make the store work, and only what each needs:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders.
  • Azul (Servicios Digitales Popular) — our payment processor, which handles card payments under its own security and privacy obligations.
  • Logistics and shipping partners — name, address, phone, and parcel contents as required for customs, for delivery.
  • Email service provider — email address and order context, for transactional and (with consent) marketing email.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We disclose it to authorities only where the law requires.

1.4 International transfers

We operate from the Dominican Republic and use service providers that process data in other countries, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data of EU/EEA residents, we rely on our processors' recognized transfer mechanisms (including standard contractual clauses in their data-processing agreements).

1.5 How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept as long as tax and commercial law require. Account data is kept while your account is active. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Communications are kept as long as needed to resolve and document the matter.

1.6 Your rights

Wherever you live, you may write to Contact@getparos.com to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate data;
  • Delete your data, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it;
  • Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest;
  • Receive a copy of data you provided, in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing at any time, by unsubscribe link or by writing to us.

We answer within 30 days. EU/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. Dominican residents hold the rights established by Law No. 172-13.

1.7 Cookies

The site uses cookies set by Shopify: strictly necessary cookies (cart, checkout, session, fraud prevention) and analytics cookies. Where the law of your country requires consent for non-essential cookies, the site presents a consent choice, and declining does not affect your ability to shop.

1.8 Minors

The store is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, write to us and we will delete it.

1.9 Changes

We will post any material change to this policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance, except where the law requires fresh consent.
